Buhari Returns From UK Trip Ahead of Tomorrow's Inauguaration
Nigeria’s president-elect, Muhammad Buhari returned to Nigeria early today in time to attend the beginning of handing over ceremonies in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Buhari left Nigeria abruptly last week on a British Airways flight with Diezani Allison-Madueke, a controversial minister in the outgoing regime of President Goodluck Jonathan considered to be highly corrupt.
Party officials told Saharareporters last week that the abrupt trip caught them unawares, however, family sources stated Buhari had scheduled the trip as a way of taking a short break before he takes over the reigns of power on Friday.
Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at exactly 5:25am accompanied by a former civilian president, Shehu Shagari and his daughter, Zahra.

Jonathan wants Obasanjo, Abdulsalami, Babangida others probed
President Goodluck Jonathan has advised the incoming president, Muhammadu Buhari, not to single his administration out for probe.
He said if Mr. Buhari must investigate him and his administration, he should do the same for the past governments.
A probe centred only on the Jonathan administration will amount to a “witch hunt”, the president said Wednesday at a valedictory cabinet meeting attended by ministers ahead of his handing over to Mr. Buhari on Friday.
Mr. Jonathan said his comments followed calls from different quarters for his administration to be investigated.
“Some people are even calling for the probe of the government, but I think in Nigeria, there are a lot of many things that will be probed, very many things, even debts owed by states and debts owed by this country from 1960 up to this time.
“They say it is Jonathan’s administration that is owing these debts. I believe that anybody that is calling for probe must also ensure that this probe is extended beyond the Jonathan administration.
“Otherwise, to me, it will be witch-hunt. If we are very sincere, it is not only the Jonathan administration that should be probed.
“If you are very sincere, then it is not only the Jonathan administration that you probe.
“A number of things have gone wrong, we have done our best.

president Barack Obama 50 cows and other assorted livestock in exchange
for his 16-year old daughter Malia's hand in marriage, a report said
Tuesday.

Kiprono
said he intended to put his offer of marriage to Obama and hopes the
president will bring his daughter with him when he makes his first
presidential visit to Kenya, the country where his father was born, in

BREAKING NEWS: Oil Marketers Reach Agreement With Govt. On Resumption Of Fuel Supply
Petroleum products marketers and the
Federal Government on Monday have set aside their face-off resolved with
government, resolving to immediately mobilize to ensure restoration of
normal supply of fuel throughout the country.
At the end of a meeting convened by the
Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream and downstream) to resolve the
crisis, Chairman, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN),
Obafemi Olawore, said its members, consisting Oando, Conoil, Forte Oil,
MRS, Total and Mobil Oil agreed to commence lifting and distribution of
fuel immediately from the stock supplied by the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Capital Oil and Gas Ltd had on Sunday
commenced the loading of 13 million litres of petrol from its depot in
Apapa for distribution to the various states to reduce the current
scarcity.
The Chairman of the company, Ifeayin
Ubah, told journalists in Lagos that more than 2,000 trucks would be
loaded before May 29 to boost the country’s economic activities.
He said the company’s facilities had the
capacity to load 13 million litres of the product within the

daily basis. With this, it is our belief that once again our citizens
will begin to smile and return to normal family and work life.
“We call on other petroleum marketers to

Nigeria is broke, Amaechi insists
The Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi
Amaechi, has again declared that Nigeria is broke and blamed the
inability of the state and others to pay workers’ salaries and pensions
on the nation’s current poor financial condition.
Amaechi said that the nation’s economic
condition could be noticed through the dwindling statutory monthly
allocation usually received by the state from the Federal Government.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service
organised by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives
Congress, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, and his campaign outfit, the Greater
Campaign Organisation in Port Harcourt on Sunday, the governor recalled
that he was described as an alarmist last year when he cried out over
Nigeria’s poor financial state.
Amaechi pointed out that the nation’s economy had continued to fall since he made the statement in December 2014.
“When I said sometime last year that
Nigeria’s finances was in a dire strait, some people referred to me as
an alarmist. Since I made that statement in December last year, the
statutory allocation to the state has continued to decline.
“Now, almost all the states are finding
it difficult to pay salaries. The state government owes civil servants
their April salaries and pensioners’ four months’ salary arrears because
the state does not have the money to pay them,” the governor said.
Amaechi explained that he decided to
channel financial resources towards the completion of ongoing projects,
which he promised would be completed before the end of his
administration on May 29, 2015.
He said, “Some people have chosen to
make an issue of the difficulty we are currently experiencing in paying
the salaries of civil servants as well as the arrears of our retirees.
It is not our making.
“No government will deliberately refuse
to pay the salaries of its workers. We will pay as soon as we receive
our share of our statutory monthly allocation from the Federal
Government.
“It is not easy to joggle the payment of
salaries and the implementation of capital projects that are actually
geared towards developing the state, creating jobs and improving the
economy of the state because more monies go into the society when you
award contracts and pay the contractors on time so that they can also
pay their workers on time.”

Don’t expect much from Keshi – Babayaro
As Nigerians continue to react to the return of Stephen Keshi as the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, former international, Emmanuel Babayaro has warned Nigerians not to expect much from the coach.
Babayaro who has been critical of the former captain of the national team said his position which is not personal is based on the fact that the coach can only give what he has.
He however said the only thing that can count differently is if Keshi has learnt from the mistakes he made in his first stanza.
“In terms of expectations I want to tell you that I am not necessarily expecting anything new from Keshi because at the end of the day it is still Keshi, he is not going to give us what he does not have. We want to believe that when he was away he may have probably learnt one or two lessons especially in terms of humility and understanding. I always say that nobody can claim to know it all, you need to humble yourself sometimes and listen to other peoples opinion, I think in that particular aspect I want to hope and believe he must have learnt some lessons.

What Really Makes Marriage Work?
1. Communication
What is the one indispensable ingredient for making marriages work? Family life educators usually answer: communication. This is good news, because effective communication can be learned. Skills such as active listening, using “I” statements, paying attention to my feelings and those of my spouse, and learning tips for “fighting fair” make marriage easier. Some couples use these skills intuitively because they saw them modeled in their own upbringing. Others can learn them through classes, workshops and reading.
Of course, the hardest part of communicating usually comes when there is disagreement between the two of you.
